QR codes on demand for Demographix surveys
LONDON UK: Demographix, the leading UK developer of online research technologies, has added QR codes to the many on demand services that it offers survey builders. QR codes are square graphic images that contain data recognisable to a special reader app on a mobile device. They are similar to the barcodes on packaging that can be scanned at a checkout (see image below for a working example).
Mobile smartphone and tablet users can download free QR scanner apps onto their machines and then point their mobile's camera lens at the QR code image (which can be printed anywhere - for example on posters, menus, in advertisements or brochures). This reads the data, containing the URL of your survey, and downloads the survey instantly.
Demographix users can now easily create a QR Code for any of their surveys. On the Details tab of the Survey Properties page they simply click on the link near the top labelled GET QR CODE. A separate window opens in their browser showing the QR Code for that survey, and they then have the option to save the image to their computer by dragging it onto the desktop, or right-clicking on it and choosing "Save image as".
If you have a QR reader, try it out by using the image shown above. Point your mobile app (such as QR Droid) at the image on the computer screen and it will open a sample survey using image hotspots.
